This year, Instituto Inclusartiz celebrates a quarter of a century with the Club of the 25, a contemporary art works acquisition program produced by Brazilian artists of national and international prominence, aiming at the yearly selection of five names to work on unpublished, limited-edition pieces created exclusively for the project.
With the patronage of Frances Reynolds, founder of Inclusartiz and member of the board of renowned institutions, the Club of the 25 intends to contribute to the formation of new talent, to support initiatives in the sector and to raise funds for activities in the institute’s cultural centre as well as its residency programme.
We hereby announce the grantees of the first edition of the club: Jota Mombaça, Marcela Cantuária, Maxwell Alexandre, Talles Lopes and Vivian Caccuri; artists with different backgrounds and research, but who circumscribe in their work a range of issues in vogue in contemporary Brazilian art, revisiting history whilst keeping a critical stance towards the present.
