The presentation of the exhibition ‘Brazilian Jesuits Mission’ at the Hispanic-American Art Museum of Buenos Aires in 2000 continued Instituto Inclusartiz/ Fundação Arte Viva projects to foster the Latin-American culture and strengthen the bond between both nations, aimed at the cultural integration of Mercosur. In this exhibition, the audience had the chance of seeing the treasures originating from the mixture of the Spanish Baroque with the religious work of the Indians. Comprised of 80 works from the collection of the Museum of Art of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, the set shows sculptures and paintings produced between the end of the 17th century and the mid of the 18th century by Guaraní Indigenous communities who were in contact with the Jesuits.
