The Instituto Inclusartiz in partnership with Delfina Foundation annually offers a 3-mounth residency in London to a Brazillian artist with the main purpose of contributing to an ongoing presence of Brazilian artists on a global plataform, as well as, positioning local artistc practices in differente contexts and perspectives.
Founded in 2007, the Delfina Foundation is a London-based non-profit dedicated to facilitating artistc exchange ande developing creative practice through residencies, exhibitions and public programming. The foundation provides a platform for its residents to reflect on their practices, position their work within relevant global discourses, develop artistc researches and network colleagues.
Forging international collaborations between artists, curators, communities and institutions are made possible thanks to the Delfina Foundation’s extensive local and internacional network. The artists-in-residence receive individual assistance and curatorial mentoring, participate in group discussions with the other residents, and have studio visits with independent and institucional curators.
Back in 2018, the application process for residencies was only for Rio de Janeiro-based artists who had been nominated by local and internacional curators. In 2019, the application process for residencies focused on artists from the Northeast Region of Brazil who had also been nominated by local and international curators. This year, we proposed an open call for artists from the Northern Region of Brazil. The final decision will be made by the Delfina Foundation.
