ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

Founded in 1997, Instituto Inclusartiz is a non-profit cultural organization based in Rio de Janeiro whose ambition is to promote global contemporary art through an art corridor connecting the Lusophone world with the education of artists, curators, researchers and sponsors at every stage of their careers.

At the head of one of the most prestigious and complete artistic residency programs in the country, Inclusartiz has hosted more than thirty names in the segment, including renowned artists and curators, such as Yuko Hasegawa (Japan), Hans Ulrich Obrist (Switzerland), Amanda Abi Khalil (Lebanon) Gerda Steiner & Jorg Lenzlinger (Switzerland) and Valeska Soares (Brazil), and promising talents such as Maxwell Alexandre (Brazil), Manauara Clandestina (Brazil), Vivian Caccuri (Brazil) and Xadalu Tupã Jekupé (Brazil).

We believe in the power of art to change lives, as an important source of sociocultural transformation across the Lusophone world and want to bring the best practices to the local communities where we operate.

CULTURAL CENTER INCLUSARTIZ IN GAMBOA/RJ

Sede Centro Cultural Inclusartiz

Instituto Inclusartiz begins a new phase with the move of its headquarters to the Gamboa region, the port area and heart of the city of Rio. The Inclusartiz Cultural Center, a sociocultural and creative hub, will host various activities in the areas of art, education and sustainability . The programming will be guided by the nuclei: Residences; Educational; Community; Exhibition; Research & Publications; Sustainability & Social Engagement.

 

Casarão, a historic property dating back to 1906, will seek to serve as an engine for social development, carrying out actions in favor of the democratization of culture in one of the most outstanding regions of the city of Rio de Janeiro.

 

The 600 square meters will function as a vital center of contemporary culture that will bring together different social actors who already work in the region, based on public programs formatted in dialogue with local demands for access and enjoyment.
