Partner Pivô




In 2018, Pivô and InclusArtiz Institute established a partnership that seeks to foster artistic residencies, exhibitions and public programmes distributed between Pivô’s space, the InclusArtiz Institute and other partners in Rio de Janeiro.

Mexican artist Rodrigo Hernández’s residency+exhibition is the first project enabled by this partnership. First, Hernández will participate in a residency at Pivô Research, between June and September, that will unfold into a solo show in Pivô as well as public programs both in São Paulo and at InclusArtiz Institute in Rio de Janeiro.


After its period at Pivô, the artist is now going to an internship at Instituto InclusArtiz, in Rio de Janeiro, where he will follow with the development of his research approaching techniques of artisanal production in wood, ritual function objects – especially flutes used for mating ceremonies – as well as a study of the local fauna and flora.

Rodrigo Hernández


Rodrigo Hernández (Mexico City, Mexico, 1983) lives and works between Lisbon and Mexico City. He studied at the Akademie der bildenden Künste in Karlsruhe with Silvia Bächli in 2010-2012, and at Jan Van Eyck Academie in Maastricht in 2013-2014.

In the last years he has been awarded with a residency at Laurenz-Haus Stiftung in Basel in 2015 and at Cité International des Arts in Paris in 2016.
