In 2003, Casa da América hosted the edition of Navarra Festivals dedicated to Brazil as a result of its huge interest as an engine of the Latin-American development and for its cultural wealth. This edition dedicated to the contemporary Brazilian culture provided an overview of all artistic proposals that Brazil offers by means of its leading ambassadors in each of their areas. Arte Viva Foundation played an active role in the festival programming and impulse. Among other things, the foundation coordinated the selection of the ten best movies of the last years. These movies represent a Brazil with strong social load, as well as the exhibition “Brasil – Verso e Reverso,” with curatorship by Marcello Dantas.
